Farmers markets allow you to buy the freshest foods at their peak. Do a quick search to find out what foods are in season in your area before you head to the market. That way, you’ll know what foods to expect when you get there.

Get there early.
The best deals tend to go quickly. By getting to the farmers market early, you’ll beat the crowds and can have first pick at selecting the best produce and getting the best deals.

Make the rounds.
Go for a quick stroll through the market when you get there. That way you’ll be able to scout for the best deals and items. There’s nothing worse than seeing higher quality produce at a better price after you’ve already made a purchase.

Ask questions!
We think that one of the greatest benefits of shopping at farmers markets is that you have the opportunity to make connections with growers face-to-face. It’s your chance to ask about pesticide use, GMOs, and organic growing practices so that you can make mindful choices about the foods that you eat.
